OUR HISTORY

What a silly statement – “Doing The Impossible” …. The business idea was born in 2006 and the slogan Doing the Impossible came about because many thought the business would fail and “it would be impossible to obtain business from the clearing and forwarding sector because they are able to contact shipping lines directly for their rates”.

We do our utmost to put forward the best possible logistics solutions in the market towards your cargo movements from A to Z.

We never compromise on service or cargo safety.

From humble beginnings, in 2007 we are proud of our achievements and thank every customer that has used our services. It is you the customer that has made the “Impossible”, possible for Indigo Freight.

We will continue striving to add Professional Value to the Private & Business Sectors logistics requirements for many years to follow.

2007

We started with our Commercial Cargo Shipping division obtaining business from both the clearing and forwarding sector and directly from exporters/manufacturers. 

2008

We started with our International Relocations division and have been assisting families to move to all parts of the world. 

2009

South African representatives of United Ocean Lines (UOL) with representation in over 140 countries around the world

2017

Merged our Commercial Cargo Shipping division with CPR Freight, which included our commercial accounts, staff, and UOL network representation. CPR Freight manages and maintains all our commercial interests and CPR Freight can assist with any commercial inquiries outside of Indigo Freight’s focus. Our focus remained on FCL (Full Container Loads) and (SHARE – LCL) of Household Effects only.

2019

Indigo Freight started focusing on the UK trade route, assisting local manufactures to build their brands through feasible and affordable logistics. We started exporting various products from South Africa to the U.K. at random on an LCL (Less than Container Load) basis. 

2020

Indigo Freight now primarily focus our attention on the U.K. trade route, offering our clients with an easy solution towards moving items between Durban & the U.K.

Insurance

Should insurance be required then we place you in contact with our recommended Insurance Company directly, for two reasons. Firstly you can check on our claims record straight from the “horse’s mouth” and secondly to obtain a rate of  0.60% of your Replacement Value – Based on Total Loss insurance cover.

Please compare the “topic” against what the “Usual Suspects” in this field offer as it could make a significant difference to your overall export costs.

Insurance  Replacement Value = the value to replace all items as new in the country you are going to, convert back to South African Rands to become your Insurance Replacement Value.
